Role Overview:
The Growth Sales Specialist is a revenue focused sales role responsible for driving rapid pipeline creation and deal conversion. The role combines outbound prospecting lead qualification and early-stage deal ownership with the ability to close defined opportunities or hand over complex deals to senior Business Development leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
•Diploma or Degree in Business Marketing IT or related field advantageous
•3-5 years’ experience in B2B sales business development or hybrid sales roles within an IT or software environment
•Proven ability to generate pipeline influence revenue and close deals
•Experience selling or engaging with customers in financial services, banking, payments, or regulated industries advantageous
Reporting Line: Business Development Executive
Key Responsibilities:
•Proactively identify target accounts buyer personas and decision makers within priority industries
•Execute outbound prospecting through calls email and professional networking platforms
•Qualify prospects through structured discovery covering business need decision authority budget and urgency
•Lead early-stage solution discussions supported by pre sales and technical teams
•Progress and hand over larger or complex opportunities to Business Development Managers where required
•Build and manage a healthy pipeline with clear next steps and accurate forecasting
•Maintain complete and up to date records of all activities, opportunities and deal stages in the CRM
•Collaborate closely with marketing sales and delivery teams to refine messaging and targeting
Critical Technical and Behavioural Skills Required:
•Strong proficiency in CRM and lead management systems with disciplined pipeline tracking
Demonstrated ability to accurately capture prospect and account information track all sales activities manage opportunity stages and maintain forecasting discipline to ensure full pipeline visibility and reliable handover or closure
•Experience using data enrichment and research tools to identify and qualify opportunities
Ability to research target organisations understand industry context identify relevant stakeholders validate contact information and use enriched data to improve targeting qualification accuracy and conversion rates
•Advanced use of professional networking platforms for targeted prospecting and relationship building Proven capability to leverage professional networking platforms to identify prospects build credibility initiate meaningful conversations and nurture relationships with decision makers and influencers
•Confident cold calling skills with the ability to engage senior decision makers
Comfortable initiating outbound calls articulating value quickly handling objections professionally and progressing conversations toward discovery meetings or commercial discussions with executive level stakeholders
•Experience managing structured email outreach and campaign based prospecting
Ability to design personalise and execute email outreach sequences aligned to specific buyer personas while tracking engagement responding effectively and maintaining consistent follow up
•Strong conversation starter with a consultative and value driven sales approach
Ability to open conversations naturally by asking insightful questions understanding business challenges and positioning solutions in a way that resonates with customer needs rather than leading with product features
